Very beautiful example, in good condition. Some handling marks on the cover, impeccable interior, and vibrant illustration colors.
Pierre Loti's first novel, published anonymously in 1879. The book's theme is a love story set against the exotic backdrop of Turkey in 1876-1877, between a European naval officer and a young woman from a wealthy old man's harem, first in Salonica and then in Istanbul.
