Traditional santons nativity scene – 22 characters + animals – Provence – mid-20th century

Description :
Charming Provençal nativity scene made up of 22 hand-painted figurines, accompanied by several animals and a wooden stable. The set depicts the typical characters of a Provence nativity: shepherds, villagers, woman with a basket, miller, tambourine players, as well as the sacred scene with Mary, Joseph, the baby Jesus, and the Wise Men.
The santons are made of terracotta (or plaster depending on your actual pieces — to be specified), hand-painted in bright colors typical of Provençal workshops.

The variety of characters and the presence of animals (donkey, ox, sheep, dogs) make this lot particularly complete and decorative. The wooden nativity scene features an antique patina and harmonizes beautifully with the santons.

State:
Good overall condition, with minor paint wear consistent with age. No major damage visible. (To be adjusted according to your observation.)
