Limited edition of only 350 copies, all on Arches vellum. This one is numbered 321.

Very beautiful example, rare, completely untrimmed. Under slipcase in the Italian style and with a printed cover in two tones. Covers and slipcases are slightly worn (signs of sun exposure and handling). Interior is fresh and clean, with bright paper and discreet marginal marks.

Pierre Félix Louis, known as Pierre Louÿs, was a French poet and novelist, born on December 10, 1870, in Ghent (Belgium), and died on June 4, 1925, in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. He was also known by pen names Chrysis, Peter Lewys, and Pibrac. Pierre Louÿs founded the literary magazine La Conque in 1891, which published works by Parnassian and Symbolist authors, serving as models such as Mallarmé, Moréas, Leconte de Lisle, and Verlaine, but also featuring young, still unknown poets like Valéry, André Gide, and Louÿs himself.
His first poetry collection, Astarté, was published in 1891 at the author's expense.
