Original illustrated edition featuring a frontispiece portrait of Léon Daudet, a tailpiece, and 14 original plates by Charles Fouqueray (1869-1956), reproduced in color by Fortier-Marotte.

Copy established in a beautiful binding signed by Lucien Durvand (1852-1924), perfectly executed in green emerald half-morocco, with a gold line along the covers; the spine is smooth and decorated with a fine mosaic pattern, composed of ivory and ochre leather leaves and fleurs-de-lis, gold lines, and a title in gold letters. Gilt head. Durvand is one of the best binders of his time and received a silver medal at the 1900 universal exhibition.

Limited edition of 350 copies, this one being number 130 in the in-8 soleil format, on Vélin d'Arches paper (no. 285).

Very beautiful example, binding in excellent condition, spine sun-damaged with very minor corner scuffs. Interior impeccable.
