For sale is a significant historical oil painting from the period around 1770–1790, which, according to the previous owner, depicts Emperor Joseph II. The era of Josephinism – characterized by reforms, military reorganization, and enlightened absolutism – is impressively reflected in the uniform, posture, and overall composition of this portrait.
The work comes from a private collection in Central Germany and was professionally restored and lined by a specialist restorer, resulting in an impressively stable and visually very harmonious condition today.
