Description from the seller
Ten flat plates by Rosenthal, made in Selb, Bavaria, around 1929. These plates come from the 527 decor and represent the elegant simplicity and fine craftsmanship for which Rosenthal was renowned during the interwar period. The porcelain is white, appearing slightly ivory in the photos, and features the characteristic black flag with a gilded floral scroll border. The golden shine elegantly contrasts with the subtle white, giving the plates a classic, festive appearance that perfectly complements the late Art Deco style.
On the underside, the plates do not bear a stamped Rosenthal mark but handwritten factory numbers. This type of marking was common at Rosenthal in the late 1920s and served for internal classification of shape and decor. It confirms the original origin from the manufactory in Selb and the belonging to the same service as the other pieces of the lot. The condition is very good, with only minimal, age-related signs of use. The glaze is clear and glossy, and the gilding is almost complete and beautifully even.
This lot is part of a larger Rosenthal collection offered in several individual lots. Buyers who purchase multiple lots benefit from combined shipping, significantly reducing shipping costs. A stylish ensemble of classic Bavarian porcelain art – elegant, authentic, and of timeless quality.
Please refer to the photos for the measurements.
There were unfortunately minor issues with the exposure.
The goods are wrapped in padding foil and enclosed in bio-foam within a double-walled carton, shipped via DHL and insured.
