Fourth revised and augmented edition of the complete Patois works of Jean-Claude Peyrot (1709-1795), former prior of Pradinas, entirely written in Occitan and published in Millau (Aveyron) in 1823.
Decorated with a lithographed portrait of the author at the frontispiece. The work concludes with an important glossary or 'Small vocabulary of the words most distant from the French language contained in this volume.'
Uncommon. Preserved in a charming half-basane binding in forest green, with a smooth, floral-patterned spine, decorated with borders and small gilded tools, with the title in gilded letters.
In good condition, leather slightly rubbed at the edges and headbands. Corners pierced. Paper slightly yellowed with scattered foxing.
