An Abbasid epigraphic ceramic plate with a cream engobe, green bands and a linear Kufic inscription, dating to the 9th century CE, diameter 19.8 cm, height 6.2 cm, in good condition; provenance France, acquired in 2024 from Galerie/Antiquaire, previously from a French Islamic art collection.

Western Asia, Persia, ca. 9th century CE.
Epigraphic Islamic ceramic cup with cream slip, decorated with green bands and a linear Kufic inscription.
This plate with its simple decoration is a fine example of Abbasid art, which produced glazed ceramics in Islamic countries between the 9th and 13th centuries.
Near East, Abbasid dynasty, 9th century AD
Dimensions: diameter 19.8 cm, height 6.2 cm - Good condition - restoration
Origin: France, P.C.T. study.
Formerly: Former French Collection of Islamic Art
