Original US GI Early Wool Combat Pants - Infantry - Ranger - Ike / Class A Uniform, United States, 1943, in good condition.
Description from the seller
Nice 100% original WWII USA Service wool pants, a good size and complete — and complete with label — although washed out. Otherwise, they are in nice condition. This pattern was introduced in mid-1943 and used until 1945. Great pants to complete your Ike, A-class, or other US uniform (e.g., Ike jacket)!
Throughout WW2, enlisted men's wool trousers were used both as dress garments to be worn with the winter service uniform and as field garments to be worn with the winter field uniform. However, the development and production of wool trousers can be divided into two main types: wool service trousers, procured from 1937 to mid-1943, and wool field trousers, procured from mid-1943 until the end of the war. In 1941, 1942, and again in 1943, the pattern of the service trousers was made larger to improve comfort for field work. The wool service trousers, in their final form, were quite baggy and easily distinguishable from the earliest models, which complemented the form-fitting service coat. Wool trousers were redesigned in mid-1943 to serve primarily as field garments and were reclassified accordingly, with the word 'Field' added to their nomenclature. Field trousers retained the looser fit of the later service trousers, adopted a darker color, and included various other features designed to make them more effective as field garments.
100% original pants in otherwise nice condition.
