Original 1944 United States Army wool sweater for GI Ardennes winter, made by the Red Cross for US Army winter combat.
Description from the seller
Nice 100% original WW2 US Army wool sweater, complete, as introduced from 1942 onwards. This example was made by the chapter of the American Red Cross, which organized volunteers to knit wool sweaters, socks, scarves, gloves, or mittens for the harsh winter combat in Italy and the Ardennes. These were usually made from official Red Cross–issued patterns and sometimes included a small ARC label, such as on this example. A rare piece of gear that was used in the war, so some wear (see photos) is present but overall in usable condition; please look carefully at the photos. The label is still present and in nice condition. Would look great on a US WW2 winter mannequin, for example!
