Description from the seller
Henrici a Rosenthal ... Treatise and synopsis of the entire feudal law: summarized in conclusions and judgments in twelve chapters, methodically arranged ... now remarkably enlarged, enriched, recognized by the original author, and with many observations, especially from the Imperial Chamber, previously unpublished and illuminated ... The final edition, supplemented with some marginal notes. Frankfurt am Main: Wechelian presses: published by Daniel & Daucus Aubrius & Clement Schleichius (IS), 1624. Two voluminous volumes, complete work, with the first volume titled 'In which, like a treasury and body, the essence of feudal law, everywhere and scattered among various authors, is contained with certainty and brevity...' and the second 'Second volume, containing the remaining three chapters: tenth. On the loss of fief: eleventh. To whom the lost fief is applied...'. Pages (24), 644, 306; (4), 595, (132); folio size, 36 x 22 cm. An important classic of feudal law written by Heinrich Rosenthal. An impressive set, beautiful despite the natural signs of age. Contemporary bindings in stiff parchment, somewhat soiled; labels – titles on the spines: minor flaws. Pages uniformly browned. Two sheets detached in the first volume but present. Printer's marks on the title page. Engravings and initials woodcut; text in two columns. Large ex-libris labels on the frontispieces of both volumes.
