Description from the seller

A drafting tool is a technical instrument for drawing, primarily used by draftsmen, architects, and engineers.
Function: Its main purpose is to draw parallel, evenly spaced, and often inclined lines (hatching) quickly and accurately. Hatching is particularly used for shading sections or specific areas in a technical drawing.
• How it works: The device in the photo appears to be a roller or sliding guide model. The dial (with numbers like 2.5, 3.5, etc.) allows you to adjust the exact distance between one hatch line and the next (the interspace). You fix the tool in place and, by advancing it with a click or rotation for each line drawn, you achieve a perfectly uniform hatch.
Tools like this were essential in the era of manual technical drawing, before the widespread adoption of CAD (Computer-Aided Design).
