Description from the seller
The Ardnamurchan AD/01.21:01
Is the second single malt from the Ardnamurchan Distillery in the Scottish Highlands! Following up their inaugural from last year, this one also matured in sherry and bourbon casks. At 5 years old, it’s a great kick-off to greatness. Before this release came of age, since the distillery started production in 2014, they released several ‘Ardnamurchan Spirits’. Bottled in 2020 at 46.8% ABV, this single malt whisky consists of 50% peated and 50% unpeated spirit.
-Nose: Honeyed baking spices, melted brown sugar, orange marmalade, all backed up by waves of woody smoke, sea-washed pebbles.
-Palate: Oily citrus and stone fruit sweetness, with intriguing teriyaki sauce note, abriney coastal smoke and smouldering embers.
-Finish: Chilli heat on a smoky, savoury finish, a burst of strawberry jam.
Ardnamurchan AD/09.22 Cask Strength.
The September 2022 release of Cask Strength from Ardnamurchan, this year's sees the folks at the distillery opt for a higher percentage of peated whisky compared to previous releases, aged in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, alongside unpeated, sherry-aged malt. Bottled at 58.4%, and non-chill filtered, this is a Highland single malt that's certainly on the smokier side
-Nose: Waves of maritime smoke, with oaky vanilla, and lemon zest.
-Palate: Coastal peat, with ripe summer berries, warm oak, and gentle, peppery spice.
-Finish:The peat lingers, with gentle seaweed salinity.
