Salvador Dalí
Salvador Dalí, born in 1904 in Figueres, Spain, and died there in 1989, is considered one of the most famous representatives of Surrealism and one of the most flamboyant and eccentric personalities in 20th-century art. Dalí is best known for his masterful, dreamlike paintings that explore the unconscious and dissolve the boundaries of reality in surreal, often bizarre ways. His most famous works, including 'The Persistence of Memory' (1931) with the famous melting clocks, have made Dalí one of the most widely recognized artists worldwide.
Dalí was strongly influenced by the theories of the unconscious and Sigmund Freud's psychoanalysis. These ideas shaped the surrealist movement.
