Here is a dramatic large specimen from the old Pierre Rousse iron mine, Belledonne massif, featuring countless petals of siderite totally replaced with ochre colour iron oxides!

Note the slightly etched translucent red sphalerite crystal sitting right on the edge of a petal of siderite at the front of the specimen!
You can also see white dolomite rhombohedrons and several quartz crystals.

Very showy and a superb pseudomorphic siderite specimen overall!

Ex coll. O. Fumery.
O. Fumery gathered up over 30 years an extensive collection of about 600 accurately selected French minerals, including rare localities and outstanding regional specimens.
