Biography of the artist:
Father of painter Robert Llimós Oriol. Disciple of Ignasi Baixas and Josep Mongrell, he held his first solo exhibition at the Spanish Galleries in Barcelona in 1948. Later, he exhibited in other Barcelona galleries and in Zaragoza. After a period of nearly 15 years, he did so again in 1971. From that date onward, he regularly exhibited in Barcelona (Galería Bonanova), Madrid, Palma de Mallorca, Sabadell, Granollers, and several locations along the Costa Brava (Tossa, Blanes, Lloret), places where he often painted, particularly in Tossa de Mar, where he spent long stretches of time. He also participated in numerous group exhibitions. His works often depict the sea and beaches of the Costa Brava, with their bright sands, old fishing boats, and rugged landscapes, which feature prominently in his oeuvre. His work also includes harbor scenes, landscapes, and urban views. He has worked in oil painting, watercolor, and ink drawing, always maintaining fidelity to the plein air Impressionist tradition. A piece of his can be seen at the Tossa de Mar Museum.
