Rigid binding with a leather spine showing visible defects and gaps as shown in the photo, but still securely attached.
Some pages with minimal stains on the upper or lower margins that never touch the text. Part of the pages of the Plates with a light oval stain as shown in the photo. The Italy site page with a light stain as shown in the photo. Internally, overall good condition with well-preserved cards. First blank card, title page, and first page of the dedication with minor woodworm holes in the upper corner that do not touch the text.

Ptolemy's 'Geography,' edited by Vincenzo Valgrisi in Venice in 1561.
It is an edition translated into Italian by Girolamo Ruscelli. This 1561 edition is distinguished by the inclusion of new modern maps, added to the ancient ones, and by the comments and explanations provided by Ruscelli himself. This edition also contains Giuseppe Moletti's explanations of the terms and rules of geography, as well as a table of ancient and modern names.
