The geography of Claudius Ptolemy the Alexandrian... In Venice, 1561. Book Eight, Ex Libris Mattioli on the front pastedown. The second volume containing the atlas is missing.
Complete volume containing the text of all geography translated into Italian by Gerolamo Ruscelli.
Atlante absent.
Pagination: I bianca + VIII + 358 + 48 + I bianca. Dimensions: 23.5 x 17 cm.
Rigid binding with a leather spine showing visible defects and gaps as shown in the photo, but still securely attached.
Some pages with minimal stains on the upper or lower margins that never touch the text. Part of the pages of the Plates with a light oval stain as shown in the photo. The Italy site page with a light stain as shown in the photo. Internally, overall good condition with well-preserved cards. First blank card, title page, and first page of the dedication with minor woodworm holes in the upper corner that do not touch the text.
