Atea RTT 56A - Analogue telephone - Plastic, Iron

In 1956, the Belgian telephone company RTT introduced this new telephone, which was subsequently distributed for many years as the standard model.
The device was designed in the 1930s by Atea, Automatique Electrique Anvers SA, Antwerp. For that time, it was a very modern design that still looks good today.
This device is made by BTMC, the Bell Telephone Manufacturing Company.
This is the ivory white version, with a chrome dial. Most of these telephones were black, so this version is somewhat rarer.
The device has a carry handle for easy transportation. It is a heavy device; the tray is completely made of iron.
The phone was still functioning when it was decommissioned, but it has not been tested recently. I do not have a suitable connection at home.
It is, in any case, a decorative object for enthusiasts of the fifties and sixties.
