Description from the seller
WOMAN BUYING FLOWERS, a vibrant and expressive painting measuring 70 x 100 cm by artist Flavia Delgado. This painting captures the fleeting moment of a woman stopping in front of a flower shop. The exterior of the store is sober, with a black facade framing the warm orange glow of the interior, as if the heart of the establishment beats with its own light. Through the windows, silhouettes of plants can be seen, vegetal shadows projected onto the glass as if they too want to come out to greet the passerby.
On the sidewalk, the colors burst: flowers in shades of pink, orange, white, and yellow overflow from wooden boxes and dark pots. The vegetation spills beyond its bounds, occupying public space as a rebellion of life and color. The woman, seen from behind, dressed in a long white skirt that blends with the beige pavement, pauses in contemplation. She has a bicycle, suggesting movement, but at that moment everything seems to have paused. Her expression is restrained, delicate, almost reverent before the ephemeral beauty of the flowers.
The contrast between dark volumes and vibrant colors, between urban architecture and intervened nature, creates a melancholic and elegant atmosphere. The painting seems to speak to us of the desire to find beauty in everyday life, of how a woman — faceless, nameless — can become a symbol of tenderness, pause, and contemplation.
