Original 70 × 100 cm acrylic painting by Flavia Delgado, titled LA PLAZA DE LA CIUDAD XL (NO RESERVE), signed by hand, created in 2025 in Spain, depicting a yellow background with black shadows and a solitary horse.
Description from the seller
THE CITY SQUARE is a vibrant and expressive painting measuring 70 x 100 cm by the artist Flavia Delgado. In this painting, everything seems frozen in a moment suspended between day and memory. The sky, absent, gives way to an intense yellow background that floods everything, as if the sun had descended to merge with the ground. The black shadows—a loose horse, a solitary man, trees, lampposts, and flags whipped by the wind—are sharply outlined against this vibrant surface, challenging time.
The horse moves forward with an elegant yet uncertain stride, like a symbol of freedom or abandonment. Its solitary and majestic presence breaks the apparent stillness, as if it belonged to another dimension. In the distance, a human figure walks with the indifference of someone who expects nothing. Between them, posts, palms, and barely sketched buildings in blue outline the boundaries of a ghostly city, recognizable yet abstract, as if it had been evoked rather than painted.
The wind blows strongly, bending the palms and waving the invisible. Shadows seem more real than bodies. The scene resembles a lost postcard in time, a vision that slips between sleep and wakefulness. 'The city square' does not depict a specific place, but the universal feeling of inhabiting an alien, beautiful space, perhaps a little empty inside.
