Description from the seller
This crystal jewel from Val Saint Lambert, part of the Valambert series, breathes discreet luxury and absolute mastery of glass.
Its surfaces alternate between deep cuts and pressed reliefs with rare precision, forming a setting designed to stand out in the middle of a table or hold a light bouquet – like these freshly picked roses here.
Subtle link between yesterday's gestures and today's lines, it illuminates any setting by capturing light with a unique purity. Empty or floral, it asserts itself as a statement piece, capable of launching a collection or crowning it.
Valambert varies its forms in multiple sizes and silhouettes, from fine cuts to adornment objects, with each element interacting with the others to form a coherent whole.
From Seraing, near Liège, Val Saint Lambert has been perpetuating a craft since 1826 that was born from the ashes of an ancient abbey, under the impetus of François Kemlin and Auguste Lelièvre.
At the peak of its glory, at the turn of the century, the manufactory employed more than 5,000 workers and produced 120,000 pieces per day, exported to Russian imperial courts and North American exhibitions. The 'Vase of the Nine Provinces' – 2 meters, 200 kg – remains the calling card of that era, displayed in Antwerp in 1894.
After two wars and several crises, the company has managed to keep its DNA intact. It now combines ancestral cuts with sleek design, creating objects that speak to the present.
Val Saint Lambert is the Belgian art of crystal in motion: history, precision, invention.
Total weight: 3900 g, total length: 55 cm, width: 175 mm.
Careful packaging, maximum protection, insurance.
