A traditional Japanese andon lantern from the Showa period, crafted with a wooden frame and covered with shoji-style paper. The lantern features a gently curved bamboo handle and also comes with a spare handle, making it both practical and decorative. The clean, minimalist form reflects classic Japanese aesthetics, suitable for display or gentle ambient lighting when fitted with a candle or LED (please note that the original candle stand is not included).
The frame shows traces of shoji glue, and there are light scuffs on the wooden surfaces. Some stains are visible on the inside of the base, as shown in the photos. The shoji paper also has small marks consistent with age. These details are part of its vintage character and do not detract from its overall appeal. Please check the photos for the condition.
