Description from the seller

During the Crusades, iron arrowheads were designed for specific military purposes, including points for piercing chain mail and light armor, broad points with barbs to inflict large wounds, and broad points shaped like a swallowtail or crescent for greater effectiveness against horses or men. These designs varied significantly in shape, size, and type of material used, with hard, high-carbon iron being the most sought after for its durability and ability to penetrate armor.

Provenance: Dusper Collection, assembled since the 1970s; former Austrian private collection, 2011; Former collection of Anita Kerehova, Austria, 2020; Former Pablo H. Goizauskas Collection, Spain, 2025
