Description from the seller
This Roskopf Patent pocket watch presents a condition consistent with its age, maintaining the characteristic aesthetic of the early 20th century. The exterior metal case shows notable wear of the plating, with scratches, scuffs, and small pinpoint marks that evidence its prolonged use and age, but which contribute to its authenticity and vintage charm. The side inscription 'VERDADERO' remains clearly visible, as do the original Roskopf Patent stamps on the lid.
The inner cover shows a clear and well-preserved engraving, with the exhibition medals and the signature of Fabrique Centrale – Fté Roskopf & Cie, although it displays areas of wear and darkening typical of the passage of time. The internal surfaces exhibit some oxidation spots on the edge, common in watches over 100 years old.
The dial, in an aged ivory tone, retains all its well-defined Arabic numerals. It shows slight signs of dirt and the natural patina typical of an antique piece. The ornate hands, in gold color, are complete and visually appealing.
The mechanical movement appears complete, with the gears, wheels, and main bridge in good visual condition. Some metal elements show slight oxidation and wear, with no apparent breaks or missing parts. It is a representative mechanism of the Roskopf system, robust and simple, ideal for collectors.
Overall, it is an authentic vintage pocket watch in good condition for its age, with aesthetic wear appropriate to its vintage status but no serious damage. An attractive collectible piece due to its design, original engravings, and historical value within popular European watchmaking of the 19th and 20th centuries.
It will be sent in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
