Description from the seller

A very rare first edition of this important historical monograph on Roman public law, particularly on the protection of public roads, written by the German jurist Otto Everhard (1685-1756).

Otto Everhard, Jecti and Antecessoris. On the protection of public roads, a singular book..., Trajecti ad Rhenum, A. Hofmans and J. S. Bosch, 1731.

PP.: (XVI), 570, (VIII). Complete, with a frontispiece depicting a long road traveled by a chariot, in a place with mythological statues.

Example with pages in overall very good condition, with diffuse and uniform browning, physiological in Dutch and German books of that era.

Contemporary full parchment binding with handwritten title on the spine, very well preserved. White flyleaves.

Seller's Story

I am always interested in purchasing individual works and/or entire libraries to help my bibliophile clients enrich their collections with rare and valuable pieces.
