A very charming and complete set of 12 silver-plated knife rests (porte-couteaux) with various animal figures.
Made by the renowned Orfèvrerie Apollo, Paris, circa 1900-1930.
The set is presented in its original blue case with a satin interior, printed with the "Orfèvrerie Apollo" logo.
Each knife rest is marked with the square Apollo hallmark featuring the profile of an Apollo animal – typical of this Parisian house.

The Orfèvrerie Apollo operated in Paris in the mid-20th century and was known for its refined silver-plated tableware, comparable in quality to Ercuis, Boulenger, and Christofle.
Their designs combine elegance with playful motifs, such as the animal figures featured here, popular in the French art-dining scene of the 1930s and 1950s.
