La schermitrice, an original oil painting by Ninni Pagano (2025), signed by hand, 39.5 × 39.5 cm.
Description from the seller
Ninni Pagano was born in Catania. Always passionate about Wunderkammer and everything that nature offers in its beauty, this passion led him to study under master Antonio Sciacca, his teacher. It was in 2011 that his artistic career began, gradually gaining recognition and earning the respect of critics such as Aldo Albani, Roberta Filippi from the Orler gallery, Philippe Daverio, and Daniele Radini Tedeschi. In 2016, his name appeared in the prestigious American guide Guide Museums Galleries Artists. After participating in two contemporary art Triennials in Rome, with his works published in Mondadori catalogs, in 2020 his name was included in the prestigious Atlas of Contemporary Art by De Agostini.
The work of art is an oil on canvas, signed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity with the artist's logo, characteristics of the work, and the artist's signature at the bottom.
The colors of the painting may vary slightly from the photo due to camera and screen settings.
The artwork is carefully packed with bubble wrap and cardboard, and naturally shipped with a frame.
The fencer
The sword is a cross, characterized by the balance of masculine and feminine elements, a weapon that in an alchemical sense heals and restores, an instrument of spiritual transformation, an "infernal and secret fire" that allows one to reach a higher form of life through the "dry path" (warrior path). Fencing is therefore seen as a "warrior path" that, in its deepest form, does not aim at selfish power, but at sacrifice and the attainment of a higher form of spiritual life. The act of dueling is therefore compared to an alchemical "gold mine" that transforms the spirit and leads to the attainment of higher virtues.
