Description from the seller
Beautiful oil painting with frame by Andree Majchrzak, Germany 1967
1. The artist: Andree Majchrzak (*1933)
Identity: He is a registered artist who often appears in the art trade with such motifs: harbor views, industrial landscapes, and cityscapes with churches.
Majchrzak captures the spirit of the 1960s, a time when industry and reconstruction were dominant themes.
2. The style: Industrial Impressionism
The picture is a prime example of late Impressionism with a strong focus on industrial realism.
The technology
Brushwork: Here, primarily the brush (not just the palette knife) was used. The stroke is 'open' and sketchy. Look at the water: the reflections are painted with quick, horizontal strokes.
• Material: It is oil on hardboard. The matte gloss and the way the colors are blended together (wet-on-wet) suggest oil.
Composition: The artist uses the black lines of the cranes and ship masts graphically to structure the image. This gives the whole a certain technical strictness, which creates a beautiful contrast to the soft sky.
Artist: Majchrzak, Andree
Country: Germany
Year: 1967
Oil on hardboard with frame
Width: 94cm
Height: 73cm
