The Ardnamurchan AD/04.21:03
This whisky is made with a cracking combo of the Ardnamurchan distillery's peated and unpeated spirit, and drawn from a mixture of 65% bourbon and 35% sherry casks. Expect notes of coastal air and honeyed malt aplenty from this one.
-Nose: Toasted barley and sea spray, with candied peels and a touch of lemongrass..
-Palate: Softly oaky. Runny honey notes take shape, with peanut brittle and cooked fruit in tow.
-Finish: Lingering hints of sweet peat.
Ardnamurchan AD/10.21:06
Marvellously well-balanced single malt Scotch whisky from Ardnamurchan, made with 50% peated and 50% unpeated malt at its heart. This expression (which has the catchy name AD/10.21:06) was aged in a combination of 65% bourbon casks and 35% sherry casks, further helping the balance with notes of creamy vanilla, oaky spice, and warming dried fruit.
-Nose: Peach pie dusted with brown sugar, a hint of coastal peat with a mineral edge, slightly chocolatey.
-Palate: Cherry, chocolate peanuts, vanilla, another waft of warming peat.
-Finish: Orange peel, subtly singed barley, nutmeg.
Note: Both bottles come with a wee dram.
