Chess table - HDPE, empty, wrought iron

The condition of this game is excellent, with some signs of aging and discoloration.
The wrought iron base was made around 1970 by a local blacksmith especially for this game; wrought iron in interior design was gaining popularity at that time. The game itself and the leather-covered board are about ten years older!
The theatrical pieces depict figures from the 16th century, the time of Philip II.
The game pieces are probably made of HDPE (High-density polyethylene), a plastic that was widely used over time. However, this does not explain why the white pieces are heavier than the black ones; they might be made of different materials. It has also been suggested that they could be a type of bone.
The board with the storage box is covered with treated leather and lined with a kind of velvet.
The size of the box is 48x48x5 cm. The height of the pieces can be seen in the photos.
The height of the base is approximately 72cm.
