Adler, and contributions by Dr. Wm. Dorpfeld With 188 woodcuts, 24 plates in chromolithography, one map, and four plans"....First American Edition. First Printing. Publisher's red decorated cloth, gilt lettering and decoration on spine, elaborate gilt borders, lettering, and bull-riding medallion on cover, black endpapers, top edge gilt. Light wear around edges and corners, spine sunned, bright gilt on front. Inside complete, maps and text with light stains especially on margins but overall clean.
An account of the excavations by Schliemann at Mycenæ and Tiryns with details of more than 700 objects found.
Scarce. Overall very well preserved copy!!!
