Description from the seller
These five canvases, all acrylic and oil on 40x50 cm canvases, are intense and vibrant portraits of women. The series, as a whole, conveys a strong sense of individuality and celebrates female beauty in various forms and shades. Each woman has a direct gaze or an attitude that transmits remarkable self-confidence. These are poses that do not ask but affirm. There is a palpable dignity in every face, suggesting women who are aware of their worth and presence. The turbans and scarves are not mere accessories; they are central elements framing the face and adding cultural and stylistic depth. They link the portraits to a narrative of tradition, fashion, and personal identity, perhaps also to an idea of 'Crowning' one's uniqueness. The backgrounds, with their geometric, abstract, or colorful motifs, are also lively and not static. They help create an atmosphere that is both contemporary and rooted in a rich visual aesthetic. In some cases, the motifs seem to evoke fabrics or ethnic symbols, amplifying the idea of a complex and rich identity. The title, which could refer both to the expression of desire and passion and to the famous film or TV series, suggests that these women 'Must Have' something: perhaps control over their lives, self-assertion, or simply the freedom to express themselves. It is an exclamation of empowerment.
Stefania Ormas, an Italian painter, graduated in painting from the International Art School of Terni. In recent years, she has exhibited in various solo and group shows both in Italy and abroad, such as: Casa della Cultura di Navacerrada - Madrid, Palazzo del Infantado in Guadalajara, Museo Reina Sofia - Madrid, RED03 Gallery in Barcelona, Galeria Bernet in Barcelona, and Roccartgallery in Florence. Her works are part of private collections in Italy, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Germany, America, and public collections such as in the municipality of Gata de Gorgos in Spain.
The world it depicts is primarily feminine and does so with a careful and realistic eye, always capturing a poetic vein. Its style is a compendium of the most recent pictorial forms, maintaining a close connection to its figurativism with attention to the anthropology of the subject.
