Magnificent pair of Napoleon III style frames, made of gilded brass, in Empire style, with a lithograph from 1860 depicting two famous Italian Freemasons.
General Alfonso La Marmora and General Enrico Cialdini
Alfonso La Marmora actively participated in the Risorgimento, but he was primarily distinguished as a politician and military leader.
Fu was the Grand Master of the Grande Oriente d'Italia, a role he held for two terms.
Enrico Cialdini, the general and diplomat of the Kingdom of Italy, was a Freemason. He joined Freemasonry in 1861, becoming a member of the 'Romagnosi' lodge in Milan. Subsequently, in 1880, he also became Grand Master of the Grande Oriente d'Italia, the main Masonic obedience in Italy.
