Profusely illustrated with frontispiece, and many full-page plates-also in colour- from famous pictures and statues taken from famous artists, including Lord Leighton, G. F. Watts, B. Picart, Michaelangelo and Edward Burne-Jones. Lacking 2 b/w plates but with 3 colour illustrations not listed!!!!
Published by George G. Harrap & Company, London, 1918 edition. Publisher’s original maroon cloth boards, embossed on front board!!! Top page edge gilt. Binding in overall very good condition, some shelfwear, light wear around edges and corners . Inside very good, very light foxing,text readable. Illustrations in very good condition. Never seen a copy with this particulare binding!!!!
