Shōren-in is a historic temple in Kyoto, known for its elegant gardens, ancient camphor trees, and calm atmosphere. Located at the foot of Higashiyama, it was once connected to the imperial family, and its grounds reflect a refined sense of traditional Japanese beauty.

This artwork portrays one of Shōren-in’s great camphor trees spreading its branches over a stone pathway. The bright green leaves catch the sunlight, creating a soft, peaceful glow. Behind the tree, the temple buildings appear quietly through the foliage, capturing the serene and timeless charm of this sacred place.
