Description from the seller

Indo Agra Antik Rugs – Tradition and Craftsmanship from India
Indo Agra antique carpets are hand-knotted rugs produced in the Agra region in northern India. They combine traditional Indian knotting techniques with historical Persian and Mughal pattern influences. The term Indo Agra refers to carpets from India (Indo), often crafted based on models from Agra. Antique refers either to old original pieces or to new carpets artificially aged to convey the character of antique unique pieces.
Origin and history
The carpet production in Agra dates back to the 16th century, when Persian weavers came to India under the Mughal Empire. Their patterns and techniques were combined with Indian influences. Carpets from Agra were considered sought-after luxury objects in Europe as early as the 19th century. Today, Indo-Agra carpets are produced both traditionally and through modern workshop methods.
