Five books by Frans Kellendonk, including Mystiek lichaam en 4 andere.
Description from the seller
Frans Kellendonk is one of the most intriguing personalities in the Dutch language area, if not the most intriguing among his peers. To put it in old Protestant Dutch. Not that they would immediately cheer upon hearing his name. Certainly not.
But to the point! In this lot, not only his debut (in first edition!) for which he received the Anton Wachter prize, but also his novel Mystiek lichaam (hardcover and also in first edition!), the work that brought him fame, notoriety, praise, and criticism, the last two due to alleged antisemitism and homophobia. And to think that Kellendonk himself was homosexual. The world is not an easy place.
In his short life, Kellendonk died at the age of 39 from AIDS, and the Nijmegen-born writer created an oeuvre that is not very large but indeed significant. His legacy continues to resonate each year through the Kellendonk Lecture, which has been organized annually since 1992 by the Faculty of Arts at Radboud University in Nijmegen in his memory.
Ruins (stories) – Meulenhoff, Amsterdam, 1977 – Debut – 1st edition – paperback – 160 pages

2. The Good-for-Nothing. A short story (novella) – Meulenhoff, Amsterdam, 1979 – first edition – paperback – 108 pages
State: slightly misread, address stamp inside the cover, name, date, and place on the title page – still a quite reasonable copy.
Letter en Geest. A ghost story (novel) – Meulenhoff, Amsterdam, 1982 – 1st edition – paperback – 120 pages
State: almost like new
4. Mystical Body. A History (novel) – Meulenhoff, Amsterdam, 1986 – First edition – hardcover in yellow linen with dust jacket – 196 pages
Condition: very beautiful, with a bit of dust on the upper part.
5. The Half World (reportages) – Meulenhoff, Amsterdam, 1989 – 1st edition – 76 pages
Additionally, a few clips about Mystical Body have been added.
