About the Transience Mirrors
Over time, dark spots begin to appear on mirrors. The silver layer gradually oxidizes under the influence of oxygen and water, revealing part of its history. While this process can be seen as degradation, this project highlights the beauty of this material transition of silver. The Transience Mirrors display different states of oxidation through an accelerated process. All mirrors are handmade, and the oxidation patterns vary slightly on each piece. This roughness in oxidation, combined with the clean geometric aesthetics, makes each design mirror truly unique and beautiful.
This piece has very tiny imperfections due to the oxidation process, which is part of its charm. This is why we can offer it at a slightly lower price to the Catawiki community (retail price is 2590 EU). Please note, we ship the item in a solid wooden crate from a warehouse outside the Netherlands. This may be why the cost is higher than expected. Item pickup is not possible.
