Kasbah, an original oil painting by Pierre de Salaeder (France), hand-signed and sold with a frame, in the Arts & Métiers style.
Description from the seller
This artwork, titled Kasbah and signed by the talented painter Pierre de Salaeder, a painter of the Orientalist school, is a unique piece that will captivate lovers of historic landscapes and Mediterranean atmospheres. The painting depicts a picturesque village, inspired by North African or Middle Eastern styles, nestled beside a shimmering river. The buildings, constructed from adobe, feature warm tones of terracotta and ochre, with geometric cubic shapes that harmoniously stack on a rocky hill. The house walls, pierced by small windows, seem weathered by time, giving authenticity and soul to this scene.
In the foreground, the river, a deep blue mixed with turquoise reflections, subtly reflects the colors of the village and the sky, creating an impression of calm and serenity. The banks are lined with rocks and small patches of vegetation, adding a touch of wild nature. In the background, brownish-hued mountains rise majestically, while the sky, a pale blue slightly cloudy, evokes a peaceful end to the day, bathed in soft, golden light.
Some human figures, dressed in long white tunics, animate the scene: two characters stand near a house on the left, and three others converse on the right bank, bringing a human scale and a touch of everyday life to this timeless landscape. Pierre de Salaeder's technique, with its fluid brushes and vibrant colors, reveals a realistic style tinged with impressionism, where each detail is carefully crafted to convey emotion and a story.
The painting is enhanced by an elegant and refined frame, designed to showcase the artwork while providing a classic presentation. The frame features a triple-layer structure: a thin, shiny gold outer border that contrasts with a wide intermediate area covered in textured beige fabric, and a more discreet inner border that directly frames the painting. This combination of materials and colors – the dazzling gold, warm beige, and the simplicity of the inner border – gives the painting a timeless look, perfect for elegant interior decor, whether classic or contemporary.
