Description from the seller
About the artist
Justina Gve is a contemporary painter based in Lithuania. Her works explore human emotions, self-awareness, and the invisible layers of communication between people. In 2024, she was selected as one of Saatchi Art’s Rising Stars, a recognition awarded to 30 emerging artists worldwide. Each painting is created with authenticity and intention, blending acrylic and oil techniques to capture both thought and feeling.
About the artwork
This work reflects on the mystery of beginnings — that silent space before existence takes shape. The figure is enclosed, not as an infant, but as essence, waiting.
It asks: When does the soul begin? Before the first breath? Before the body itself?
Perhaps resilience, memory, and identity are seeded long before we know ourselves.
This painting is less about answers and more about holding the question: At what point do we truly begin?
