In Wildflower, Ella Suárez is inspired by those flowers that grow outside of order, without cultivation or control, open to the randomness of the wind and the rigor of the earth. This series evokes the silent persistence of what sprouts in hostile conditions, what blooms unseen, what insists on growing without permission.
The stains that inhabit these surfaces do not represent flowers, but their latent energy: botanical echoes that dissolve, spread, and transform. The ink expands as if responding to a primitive vegetal logic, generating shapes that evoke stubble, spores, or seeds floating at the edge of visibility.
In many cultures, wildflowers have symbolized freedom, resistance, and what is not confined by form. Here, Suárez reinterprets them as a metaphor for the instinctive, the uncontrollable, and what persists outside the margins.
Wildflowers do not celebrate the flower as an ornament, but as an act of strength: a gentle explosion that invades the surface without asking for permission.
Authenticity of the work
Each piece is hand-signed on the back of the canvas, guaranteeing authenticity and preserving the visual purity of the artwork. This identification includes the title of the piece, the year of creation, and Ella Suárez's signature. It is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), which certifies its origin and authorship. This practice underscores the artist's commitment to the integrity of her work and ensures the provenance of each piece.
Clarification note
Some reference images may show slight tonal variations compared to the original artwork. This is due to the lighting conditions of the different environments where the paintings are displayed, which can affect contrast or color temperature. The photographs have been taken with the utmost care, but it is important to consider that these nuances may subtly vary depending on the device used to view them.
Shipping details
The works will be shipped rolled in a protective tube, a method that ensures safety during transport and offers a more economical and sustainable option. Each canvas includes an additional 6 cm margin on each side to facilitate re-stretching, which can be performed by the buyer or a professional. This approach allows for more efficient delivery without compromising the integrity of the work.
About the artist:
Ella Suárez is a Cuban-Spanish visual artist, graduated from the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) in Havana, Cuba, with a master's degree in Design and Art completed in Barcelona. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and institutions in Cuba, Spain, and the United States, and throughout her career, she has received various scholarships and awards.
Suárez finds in the intersection between the Caribbean imaginary and the European pictorial tradition a fertile ground for exploring the tensions between the organic and the abstract. Through a refined technique and a singular mastery of controlled chance, he creates compositions where vegetal textures, animal patterns, and indeterminate atmospheres coexist in balance.
Inspired by botany, natural rhythms, and transforming landscapes, her work explores the invisible traces of time and the sensory memory of matter. Each of her pieces invites the viewer into an intimate and contemplative space, where the ephemeral and the permanent intertwine in a silent dance.
