Two solid oak hand-carved drawer fronts dating to circa 1850–1880 from France.

AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Set of 3 antique hand-carved drawer fronts – Alpen Volkskunst – 19th century – oak wood

Beautiful set of three antique drawer fronts, fully hand-carved and originating from a 19th-century farmhouse furniture piece from the Alpine region (Southern Germany / Austria / Switzerland).
The fronts are made of solid oak and display characteristic folk art motifs from around 1850–1880, such as geometric V-shapes and stylized sun/flower ornaments.

The warm patina, the sharp wood carving, and the authentic wear make these fronts very suitable for:

restoration of historic furniture

decorative wall applications

Interior projects in chalet or farmhouse style.

art and upcycle projects

The entire item is completely original and unrestored, with signs of use appropriate for its age.

Measurements (approx.)

1 front panel: 58 × 10 cm

2 drawer fronts: 43 × 10 cm

See photos for all details.

Condition

Good antique condition with signs of age, light signs of use, and authentic patina. No active woodworm visible. Woodcarving remains beautifully sharp everywhere.

Origin

Alpine Region – Germany / Austria / Switzerland
