Pieter Stobbaerts was a Belgian artist born in 1865 in Brussels and died in 1948 in Kasterlee, while he was there plein air painting the Mill.
He was the nephew of Jan Stobbaerts. He studied at the Academy in Brussels under J. Quintaux and J. Portaels (1879 - 1890). His work includes landscapes, interiors, genre scenes, and stable views. He employed realistic forms and a colorful palette.
Was a co-founder of the Kring Voorwaarts in 1885.
Develops from a genre painter to a landscape painter. Works, among other places, in Mol, the Kempen, and the Watermaal-Bosvoorde area.
Their work is located in various museums.
