A Jacobean oak court cupboard from the 17th century, originating in the United Kingdom.

AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful and rare 'court cupboard' or Tridern.
Style and period: Jacobean. (1603 - 1625)
This piece of furniture is therefore 400 years old.

The cabinet served as a buffet cabinet.
We see four horizontal layers that make up the cabinet.

The top layer is open and used to display valuable objects.
Under the open section, a list of deeply cut vine rows.
Dionysus or Bacchus in the middle?

Below that, there is a layer with two doors and a closed section with a small arch in the middle, Renaissance influence. You often see these small arches on Dutch 17th-century cabinets as well.
In this bar, a Tudor rose.

Beautiful deep patina.
Quarter-sawn oak.
Below, we see in the panels two thistles with flowers.
The thistle is the Scottish emblem; at that time, Scotland and England were united, and this image reminds us of that.

This is an authentic, unique piece with art historical value.

I do not transport to the U.S. and countries outside the E.U.
Switzerland and Norway are not members of the EU.
