Bernard Aubertin, Tableau clous, mixed media technique, original edition, 1969, sold with frame.
Description from the seller
Bernard Aubertin
This artist was part of the Dusseldorf Group Zero, and his works are present in several international museums.
This work is very special and different from the usual clous Tableau. First, it used a solid wood board, probably reclaimed from somewhere, and not prepared, with very unusual dimensions. Height: 16.5 cm, width: 30 cm, thickness: 2 cm.
So, he fixed the nails that are 4 cm long in a very irregular way; this can be clearly seen from the back of the artwork.
Then, he/she colored both the front and the back with their red color.
Opera performed in 1969, in excellent condition.
On the back at the bottom right, the artist wrote 'CLOUS,' then signed and dated everything in pen, always on the right but towards the center. Stamp of the Galleria Centro di Brescia as the first provenance.
Framed artwork with a wooden cassette frame, the total dimensions of the artwork including the frame are:
Height: 30 cm – Width: 43 cm – Frame thickness: 4.5 cm.
Photo of both the front and back Archive Bernard Aubertin N TCLR96-1000441023
Provenance of the work from a private collection in Milan.
Trackable shipping.
