Rising Tension is an oil on panel painting in the impressionist style, original edition, dated 2025, 60 cm high and 40 cm wide, hand-signed, origin Netherlands.
Description from the seller
Oil paint on panel 0.6 cm
In this series, I am not looking for the spectacle of boxing, but for that small moment beforehand — when a boy is not yet a man, but his body is already learning to fight. I am interested in the vulnerability behind the stance, the doubts that sometimes make you stronger than muscles.
I enjoy creating portraits of young men and teenagers because there is something special visible in that phase of life: a vulnerability that has not yet been hardened by the world. Their faces and bodies carry an ambiguity — they are not fully formed yet, but full of promise and possibilities. What matters most to me is that in-between moment: no longer a child, not yet a man. Within that transition lies a beauty I want to capture, the openness of what can still become and the fragile awareness that this stage is only short-lived.
All series – from self-portraits and aging bodies to young male boxers, women at sunset, and intimate scenes with cats – can be found on my website, where you can also read more about my background and motivations.

I work exclusively with high-quality materials: professionally prepared linen or smooth panels, and top-quality oil paint rich in pigment. Each piece is created with care and dedication—intended to last a long time, not only in terms of material but also in meaning.
My work is an ode to what slowly disappears: body, silence, attention.
Due to vacation congestion, delays may occur in delivery.
