Description from the seller
The Red Moon
Acrylic and oil on canvas, 75 x 55 cm
Michel Suret-Canale, 2025
Original painting, signed at the bottom right by the artist.
Titled, dated, and manually certified on the back, with a workshop stamp and the mention 'Certified authentic'.
Michel Suret-Canale is a French painter active for over forty years, known for his contemporary landscapes that are both expressive and meditative. His work includes more than 10,000 pieces and is featured in over 600 private collections across 52 countries.
One of the features of his visual universe is the recurring presence of a human silhouette: a solitary character appearing here at the edge of a nocturnal marine expanse. This subtle element introduces scale, silence, and narration.
The Red Moon presents a moving sky created with acrylic and oil, with overlays, glazes, and knife work. The shades of blue are contrasted by a red moon and pink and yellow glows. The overall effect produces a luminous and vibrant atmosphere.
Chassis size: 75 × 55 cm
Mixed technique: acrylic + oil on canvas.
Canvas mounted on a wooden frame, edges stapled at the back.
Artwork ready to hang, sold without a frame.
Quotation / Estimation
Current estimate according to Cote Drouot: €990.
Work in excellent condition.
Protected and tracked shipment. Special care will be taken with the packaging (reinforced cardboard and corner protection).
Note: depending on the screen and brightness settings, the color may vary slightly.
A collectible piece for enthusiasts of contemporary landscapes, gestural painting, and night scenes.
