White glazed ceramic pitcher signed Robert Picault, dating from 1950–1960, with a black signature under the base, height 18 cm and diameter 9 cm, in excellent condition with only minimal signs of wear, made in France.
Description from the seller
Very beautiful pitcher signed by Robert Picault, a rare and sought-after piece, notably for its white hue, which is very uncommon in the artist's work.
Black signature, characteristic of productions before 1954, a period when Picault was working in Vallauris, in the South of France.
Historical context:
During these years, Robert Picault shared his studio next to Pablo Picasso's. The two artists collaborated and regularly exchanged ideas about ceramics. This proximity explains the mutual influences and the creative richness of that era, which is now highly sought after by collectors.
Description :
White enameled ceramic with spiral and geometric motifs typical of Picault.
Black signature visible under the base.
Height: about 18 cm
• Width (with handle): about 17 cm
Opening at the pass: about 9 cm
Width of the beak to the other side: about 14 cm.
Condition: excellent — no chips or cracks.
The photos perfectly show the overall condition and the finesse of the work.
This model is almost impossible to find on the market in this shade and condition.
A collectible item, perfect for a display case, interior decoration, or as an exhibition vase.
Careful shipping possible without issue, very well protected.
Personal delivery also possible.
