Intercircle surge in a coal forge in Toledo, Spain, famous for Toledan steel and its sword-making. I traveled from Bilbao to work directly with the metal and fuse modern sculpture and forging. In this ancestral environment, the steel was twisted at high temperatures, subjected to fire and hammer blows, until it took its final circular shape. Here, tradition and modernity are combined.

The piece plays with three-dimensionality, inviting viewers to trace its outline and discover the richness of its textures: rough in some areas, smooth and polished in others, resulting from combined polishing techniques. The interaction of light on these surfaces creates a dynamic dialogue between shadow, shine, and depth, highlighting the lively character of the forged steel. The base of the artwork comes to life through a chemical-free formula to achieve the characteristic colors of rust. It is varnished and has a glossy finish.

Intercircle is a circular threshold, a boundary that at the same time opens to the void, suggesting movement, continuity, and transition. The energy of the freshly worked metal still seems to beat on its surface, recalling the power of fire and the manual strength that shaped this unique piece.
