Kasai Massana, THE TALE OF ULYSSES. XXL, original edition acrylic painting, 100 cm high by 70 cm wide, created in 2025 after 2020, depicting architecture in abstract style, hand-signed, with painted edges, no wooden frame, shipped rolled.
Description from the seller
This work unifies the two visions of abstraction I have developed so far. Based on Homer's Iliad, it is a tribute to de Chirico, who, in my opinion, perfectly encompasses surrealist abstraction in terms of formal discourse. It is an abstract landscape that explores the relationship between being and its environment through the interaction of visual symbolic language and its title. It is painted with acrylic, ink, and enamels to achieve a richness of textures that accentuate the character and consistency of the composition. The piece seeks visual balance and uses color as a catalyst that unifies the whole. Joy of living. Painted entirely by hand, I seek the viewer's complicity as they lose themselves in the search for connections between forms and the subconscious.
Kasai Massana (1975). I was born in Cuba where I studied at the National School of Art in Havana. My relationship with painting has been intermittent over the years. I have done mural work in Italy and Spain, the country where I currently reside. I like art that invites reflection, but I also feel comfortable and enjoy abstraction very much.
The work doesn't seek perfection in the execution of the stroke; it's the human pulse, not a digital print; it seeks beauty through the harmonious conjunction of color, composition, and design structure to achieve reflective moments and dormant emotions in the viewer.
My works are in private collections in Spain, Italy, Mexico, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, Belgium, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Sweden, Greece, Denmark, the UK, Austria, Taiwan, Croatia, Slovakia, Luxembourg, Ireland, Romania, Lithuania, and the United States.
The work will be professionally shipped rolled in a tube by a transport company with a tracking number.
Painted edges.
A protective varnish will be applied.
Does not include wooden frame.
